There are many types of genres to read: realistic fiction, fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, horror, historical fiction, biographies, autobiographies, and classics. This year each month you have been asked to read one book from a certain genre. I would like to know what is your favorite genre? Why is that your favorite genre? What book from that genre is your favorite and why? Be as specific as you can. I’m excited to read about the books and genres you each select! Happy blogging!

My favorite genre is non-fiction. Because there is so much to read about, and I like to read about real stories. How Angel Peterson Got His Name and other outrageous extreme stories. It’s my favorite book because the people do dangerous stunts and other really stupid stuff.

My favorite book genres are fantasy and historical fiction. I do not like many historical fiction books, but some of them are some of the best books I have ever read, including Lily’s Crossing and Fever 1793. Some of my favorite fantasy books are the Harry Potter series and the three Earagon books. Like I said before, many books that are historical fiction I do not like because the author put in too much historical and not enough fiction so you don’t get the right idea of the person and how the person feels or does. Those books really bore me.

Howdy Mrs.K., How was your Monday off?
Anyway, my favorite Genre is mostly Horror, Romance,and Mystery. My most favorite would have to be the books that are about people, and about their boyfriends and friends. I guess I would have to say is my favoirte. I don’t really know what those kind of books are called but I like those kinds.
Those books are my favoirte because that’s who I am. I like to find out what happens or who did something in the horror or mystery books. I like reading the kind of books like the one I was explaining, About themself or about boyfriend problems, or even friend problems because it makes me think of myself. I also like how they tell about their life, so I can see how much we are the same!
A really good book that I am reading right now, that I LOVE is “The Other Sister,” By: S.T. UNDERDAHl. You should try reading it sometime.

My favorite genre is horror books. My favorite books are It and Christine by Stephen King. It is one of my favorites because it’s about an evil clown. Christine is my other favorite book beacause I like Corvettes and it’s a book about an evil possesed car.

My favorite genre would probably have to be non-fiction because it’s a true, real life story. My favorite book from the Non-fiction genre is The Road to the Majors because it talks about baseball and how this boy named Jimmy Hanks tries to get on a really good baseball team called the Dallas Lone Stars, but the thing is that the coach of that team is very strict and he will not let Jimmy Hanks play third base because he says that he has way too many stocky players on the left side of the infield.

My favorite genre is probably Realistic Fiction. I like this genre because I can relate to a lot more of what the characters are going through, most of the time. My favorite book in this genre is probably Flushed. I loved that book because I could relate to a lot of the things happening in the book and plus it was my favorite genre, DUH! I really like the books that Jerry Spinelli writes because he writes a lot of realistic fiction. I love reading, and I finished Stargirl!!!!!!!!! I couldn’t stop reading over the weekend, I was like “Mom, leave me alone!” so it was just me, my ice tea and pizza all weekend. READ ON!

I like fiction, fantasy, and mystery, but My favorite is fiction. I like it because it tells a story that is made up and I don’t like reading about things that are true. I have no idea why? My favorite book from fiction is Walk Two Moons, because I like her little stories about her friend, and the ending is a little sad but I still love the book.

My favorite genre is fantasy, horror, and mystery. My favorite book is Al Capone Does My Shirts. I really liked it because of how the kids always seem to try to get into trouble but avoided it except for what they could get in a lot of trouble. I always wanted to know what happened next.

My favorite book genre is family, friends, and school. It is my favorite genre because I like reading about kids that go to school with their best friends and then they come home to their none normal family. So far my favorite book so far that ties in with family, friends, and school probably is “In or Out.” I like this book because it talks about two girls that are best friends and there first day of high school. It also talks about there families.

What is my favorite genre? I would have to say that fantasy is my favorite. Fantasy is my favorite genre to read because the book can be about anything, sky’s the limit when reading about fantasy. Stories about magical places and witches, wizards and make-believe creatures, is the kind of book I would want to read on a rainy day. The major reason that I enjoy reading fantasy is that the main character could be walking down a brick pathway in the woods, and then all of a sudden, they could warp to a different time zone, or a swarm of mystical creatures could attack them. What I’m trying to say is that surprises wait around every corner in a fantasy. My favorite fantasy has to be the Harry Potter series. Yes, I know, that’s a typical fantasy favorite, but it is truley filled with adrenalin pumping action, and witches, wizards and magical creatures.

My favorite genre is romance because it’s the genre of my favorite book, which is Twilight. It’s the best book ever! Once I started reading it, I couldn’t stop! So I read the whole series in almost five days! Now I don’t have a book to read.

I like Fantasy-Action because fantasy and action go great with a gamer. Eragon is my favorite book in this category, the reason why that is my favorite is because there’s a lot of action. Like the fighting on top of a dragon and that also kinda explains the fantasy part too. Anyway, that’s my favorite book and genre. Bye, =]

It is Horror, because, well I never seemed to think about it. It’s probably heredity, because my dad loves horror , I like Serial killer and stuff.
I mostly read Stephen King because I like his books. Well, Bye-Bye.

Hi! My favorite genres are: fiction, fantasy, romance, and mystery. I like fiction because it’s a made up story. I like fantasy because I like reading about dragons and fairies ect. I love reading about romance because it’s about love and I see myself reading about it a lot! Mystery is a very interesting genre because I like reading Nancy Drew and stuff like that. The book I’m reading right now is Rules and its in the fiction genre. I read a lot of fiction books and novels, my favorite book is Bridge to Terabithia, but I think its more of a fantasy novel because of all of the unusual characters like the giant and the hairy vulture.

My favorite genre is Biographies because you are reading a true story about someone’s life and endevours they have gone on in their life. Right now, I’m reading TO THE TOP OF EVEREST and it is about a guy who breaks his ribs, fell in a crevass and him getting back to climbing.

My favorite genre is fantasy. I like fantasy because you can use your imagination. You can do this because it’s not realistic so the real world doesn’t bind you with your imagination. My favorite book/series is by David Eddings. The first book is The Diamond Throne, the second one is The Ruby Knight, the third book is The Saphire Rose. I like these books because they are descriptive, interesting, and a challenge.

One of the types of genres I like to read is Mystery, because it’s fun to think that something bad might happen or it could go the other way and be a good thing.
My favorite book from this genre is, StormBreaker, which is by Anthony Horowitz. It is my favorite book from that genre because it makes your heart pound at the speed of lightning, and makes you want to know what happens next.
That was an awesome book and I think you should read it too!!!

My first favorite genre is mystery. I love the way suspense and confusion flood the pages. My favorite part is when you are lost in the book, and you CAN’T set it down. “Chasing Yesterday” series is my favorite mystery.
I also love fiction because it’s not real, but it seems real. Fiction books are amusing because they are like reading about someones life. My favortie fiction books are “Haters” and “Notes on a Near-Life Experence.”

My two favorite types of genres are fiction and mystery. Fictions one of my favorite genres because its not real and I like non-real books. Mystery is one of my favorite genres because they’re full of suspense. For my favorite book that’s fiction it is probably “The City of Ember.” I like this book because it’s sort of fantasy and fiction at the same time. My favorite book that is mystery would probably have to be “Lost and Found” because it’s sort of a mystery but fiction too.
