There are many types of genres to read: realistic fiction, fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, mystery, romance, horror, historical fiction, biographies, autobiographies, and classics. This year each month you have been asked to read one book from a certain genre. I would like to know what is your favorite genre? Why is that your favorite genre? What book from that genre is your favorite and why? Be as specific as you can. I’m excited to read about the books and genres you each select! Happy blogging!
Author ArchiveConflict-verb-to contend, struggle, fight, clash, antagonize or upset. We have talked about internal and external conflict with the characters in books we have read. I would like you to share a conflict the character is having in your book. Tell us if it is an internal (inward, within themselves) or external (outside of themselves) with another character. Be specific with what you share. Make a prediction on how you think your character will resolve the conflict. Happy Holidays Room 202! I hope that you will enjoy your vacation time with family and friends! It has started to mist outside and they have predicted five inches of snow! Yikes! It looks like a good day to start a book! Let me know what you have been doing during your break. You could even let me know what books you have read! I’m excited to make the book list for our class! Let me know any more titles you would like! Hope to hear from some of you! I enjoyed reading your first blogs today! I think there were some excellent ideas on how we can use blogging in our classroom. One idea was to blog about books! I can really see that getting people excited to read and work on their writing at the same time! How cool is that? Another idea was to work on our keyboarding skills that we learned while making sure we are using what we have learned with our 6 Trait writing! Which leads me to other questions that you must answer. How important is it to stay out of trouble with the C.O.P.S.? What does each of the letters stand for and how can that help our blogging? How do you think this will personally help you? I am excited to read what you have to say about today’s lesson! We are going to be blogging in room 202. What started out as a Web log is now called a blog. A blog is a website that allows communication through posts and comments on a particular subject. How many of you have bogged before? What types of blogs have you written on before? How do you think we could use this in our classroom? I am excited to be using more technology to teach you Millennials: your generation born between 1980-2000. Let’s begin blogging! |
